Our New IMF Coffee Roaster Has Arrived in Wellington, Somerset

We're excited to share some big news from the roastery.
Our new IMF RM60 coffee roaster has arrived at Brazier Coffee Roasters in Wellington, Somerset and is now being installed at our Westpark roastery.
Manufactured in Italy and delivered last week, the RM60 is a 60kg production roaster that will sit alongside our existing Giesen 15kg. It’s currently being set up by specialist engineers, with first production roasts planned for later this month.
This is the next step on the same journey we’ve been on from the start: to roast better coffee, with more consistency, and to keep improving how we work, one roast at a time.

A Move That Set Everything Up
Earlier this year, we moved into our new home at Westpark in Wellington.
The purpose-built warehouse has given us a space that works better for the way we roast coffee: a more efficient layout, improved workflow, and room to grow.
The new roaster was always part of that picture and makes sense in the new space.
Welcoming visitors to the roastery has always been something we value, and at Westpark, people can still pop into our kiosk to grab a takeaway coffee and look in on the roasting. We’re open Monday – Friday, 8-2.30 pm. We’d love you to come say hi!

Visiting the IMF Factory in Italy
In April, once the RM60 had been built, Tom and Claire travelled to Occiobello near Ferrara, Italy, to visit the IMF factory and sign off on the machine.
It was a chance to meet the engineering team, understand how the roaster is built, and see the level of care and precision that goes into manufacturing. Matteo and Raffaele from IMF gave us a warm welcome, and it was great to connect with the artisans who handcrafted the equipment.

From Italy to Somerset
After leaving the factory, the RM60 made its journey from Italy to our roastery in Wellington, Somerset.
Seeing it arrive at Westpark last week was an exciting, if slightly nerve-racking experience for the team – unloading a machine this size was no mean feat! But it represents more opportunity to do what we already care about: roasting great coffee, consistently and with care.
Installation is now underway, with specialist roaster engineer David assembling and commissioning the machine. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be profiling coffees, testing roast curves, and getting everything dialled in before full production begins.

Maintaining Quality and Consistency
One question we often get when new equipment arrives is whether the coffee will change.
The honest answer is no.
Our focus remains exactly the same: improving consistency and flavour, not changing what people already enjoy.
Before any coffee is released from the RM60, we’ll spend time developing and refining roast profiles to make sure everything is fully dialled in.
Great coffee still comes down to the same fundamentals: sourcing well, roasting carefully, and paying attention to detail.
Looking Ahead
From moving into Westpark earlier this year, to visiting the IMF factory in Italy, and now welcoming the RM60 here in Somerset, 2026 has already been a big year - but all in service of the same goal.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple aim: to use a business as a force for good and to continue to strive for excellence. We’re a small team that cares deeply about coffee and about doing things properly. And that’s not changing.
We’ll share more over the coming weeks as the RM60 comes online and we start roasting on it properly.
Thanks, as always, for being part of the journey!
