PRODUCTION ROASTER & COFFEE PACKER (fixed term 12 months maternity cover contract)
Brazier Coffee Roasters is based in a historic textile Mill in the Somerset town of Wellington, just 10 minutes from the county town of Taunton and 30 minutes from Exeter. It comprises of a café and a roastery, which from the Spring will be linked to provide an immersive coffee experience for visitors to the site.
We are a looking for a proactive and energetic individual, who has the ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment, to take on the role of production roaster and coffee packer. Initially, this is a fixed term 12 month maternity-cover contract, with a preferred start date of 19th of April.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for: - Day to day production roasting - Basic maintenance of the roasting equipment. - Fulfilling coffee orders- bagging, and picking orders and preparing for dispatch - Dispatching online orders - Stock control and ordering - Accepting incoming deliveries, unloading of stock - Warehouse management- ensuring high levels of organisation and cleanliness are maintained in the Roastery
Essential - Exceptional time management and organisational skills - Ability to work on their own for periods of time - An interest in the speciality coffee sector - Physically fit- heavy lifting required - Customer service experience. Whilst this won’t be a customer facing role, there may be times when some engagement with the public will be necessary so good people skills and a polite, friendly manner are essential to the role.
Desirable - Experience of roasting - Warehouse experience - Drivers Licence - We operate from 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, and the contract is for 32 hours a week, most likely rising to 40 hours per week by the Summer.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (permanent, full-time)
We are a looking for a proactive and energetic individual to take on the role of Business Development Manager. This would be a full time role, ideally starting with us from May.
Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate would be primarily responsible for:
- The retention, acquisition and growth of customers accounts. - Managing key wholesale accounts, including calling customers on a regular basis to take orders, - Working closely with the roasting team to ensure wholesale orders are fulfilled and dispatched - Being the first point of contact for wholesale customers and arranging any essential or routine engineering work or training requests. - Taking a lead on the selling of equipment/upselling to current customers - Generating new business leads - Managing new product lines.
Essential - You will need to have the ability to build good business relationships, to negotiate, overcome objections and so on. - Have exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills - Ability to work independently and have a positive, can-do attitude. - Drivers Licence - A passion for and knowledge of the speciality coffee sector, however, for the right candidate, with a willingness to learn, this may not be essential. Desirable - Experience in e-commerce
Rate of pay £23,500 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
